Nissan has revealed details, full prices and specifications for the new Pulsar family hatchback. The cheapest Pulsar will be the Pulsar Visia and it starts from £15,995. It’s fitted with a five-inch touchscreen infotainment centre, air-conditioning and Bluetooth connectivity. Electric mirrors, cruise control and 16-inch alloys are also factory fit.


If you spend £17,645 you will get Acenta which has autonomous emergency braking, dusk-sensing lights, automatic wipers and keyless entry. The third model in the Pulsar family is the ntec, setting you back £18,995. It brings 17-inch alloy wheels, tinted glass and LED running lights. A reversing camera and upgraded infotainment system with extra functionality like Smartphone integration and downloadable apps is also available.



The top of the range is Nissan Pulsar Tekna which starts at £20,435. Nissan has thrown everything into this spec by adding safety features such as moving object detection, lane departure and blind spot warning aids, under the ‘Nissan Safety Shield’ umbrella. Heated leather seats are also added to adorn the range topper Tekna.


Under the hood, it will give a choice of Nissan Engines either the 113bhp 1.2 litre turbocharged petrol engine or the 1.5 litre turbo diesel delivering 109bhp. There is a choice of six-speed manual or ‘Xtronic’ CVT automatic transmission.

Nissan has also confirmed there’ll be a faster 189bhp, 240Nm 1.6-litre petrol Pulsar available from early 2015. Sources suggest that the 215bhp engine from the Juke Nismo RS will make it into the car in due time as a Pulsar Nismo hot hatch flagship, aimed at the Ford Focus ST and VW GTI.
