UK sea shores will welcome a hefty new Golf R Estate with 296bhp in next spring

The all new hot estate Golf R will arrive in the UK by next spring and it has a 2.0-Litre four cylinder Volkswagen engine with direct injection fuel delivery. It is the fourth generation of Volkswagen Golf R line-up which is extended with this hefty model. The Golf R Estate is revealed just ahead of Los Angeles Motor Show and it is planned for UK deliveries next spring.

Refreshed Volkswagen engine offers a massive punch of power from a 2.0 Litre four pot motor. It is a turbocharged engine which uses outstanding TDI technology. In other words, it is the same engine used in existing Golf R three doors and five door versions. It offers 296bhp of power and 380lb-ft of torque. The power drives through a six speed dual clutch gearbox to the four wheel drive system. All new Golf R Estate clocks 5.1 seconds to pass the 62 miles per hour on the speedometer. It has an electronically limited top speed of 155mph however the fuel consumption is 40.3mpg on an average drive cycle. Carbon emissions are bit higher with 163g/km.

The all new Golf R Estate has a competitively extended loading capacity than the previous version. 262 litres increased over the five door Golf R at 605 Litre, however you can extend it to 1620 litres after folding the rear seats.

This powerful version has been tested at Nürburgring and our spy reporters captured it in various guises this year.  This all new estate has given a green light after a successful project of R badge. It is more successful than the GTI line-up.

Let’s see what happen when the Golf estate R will compete against Mercedes and Audi in UK
