Make You’re Tesla Go Faster with Software Update

Tesla Model S

A software update to your electric car will give you a McLaren MP4-12C like acceleration from an electric car

Electric cars are the most popular vehicles now days and Model S from Tesla specifically is one of the best. This car has become even faster, thanks to the remote software update. You would be really surprised to know that now Model S which is a large five-seat electric car accelerates at such rate that it now equals McLaren MP4-12C supercar. For several years, Elon Musk, the billionaire who also founded PayPal has been pushing the boundaries to such an extent that now they are able to update in-car software remotely.

The fun part is that you don’t really have to do anything to install this update; the company on the other hand, will issue the new code which will be downloaded and installed automatically.

A wide range of tweaks to the in-car computer features and different alterations are carried out through these periodic updates which improves cars’ performance or efficiency. If it was a traditional car, the manufacturer would require the car to be brought to the dealership for software updates which happens quite rare.

Let us take here the example of Model S P85D which is pretty fast for an electric vehicle already and takes only 3.2 seconds to accelerate from 0-60mph when the “insane” mode is selected, but after this new software update this time has been trimmed down to 3.1 seconds.

In his tweeter message Musk said, all that “insane acceleration” was attained through the improved inverter algorithm which they primarily designed to create increased traction in the snowy situations and the “insane speed boost” came in as a side effect. He further added that there will be a slight speed increase in the standard P85 too.
