Audi Reveals TT Sportback 5-Door Concept

Audi TT Sportback 5-door was expected at the Paris Motor Show but it leaked out just ahead of the show

There are sketches asserting to reveal the lustrous lines and excellent styling details of a new TT Sportback concept. This vivacious TT Sportback was expected to make its debut at the Paris Motor Show next week but some of its sketches were leaked to the internet prior to the show.

These sketches show that the new 5-door has a liftback body and it sits third in the row of Audi’s TT based concepts. First was the TT Allroad Shooting Brake and then TT Off-Road Concept, both revealed earlier this year. The all new concept and the other two are based on lengthened aluminium and steel platforms, while this concept is the part of Volkswagen Group’s Modular Transverse Architecture Structure.

It is a stylish version and hint Audi’s plans to rival the Mercedes-Benz CLA. It is almost 4470mm in length that makes the new TT some 290mm longer than previously introduced third generation TT Coupe, but it should not be surprising as it has five doors. Experts said that the new 5-door version has an extended version of 2505mm long Coupe. Reports also say that the rear seats are adjustable that split and fold to extend the boot capacity.

A 2.0 Litre 4-cylinder turbocharged engine is planned as power source to Audi TT Sportback. It is the same Audi engine that was showcased in the TT Quattro Sport concept in Geneva last year. It has a power boost of 414bhp and a six-speed s-tronic dual clutch transmission with all-wheel drive Quattro drive system.

This comes as an expansion plan to the Audi’s TT line-up and it is confirmed from a statement by Ulrich Hackenberg in Beijing where he said, “The Audi TT Off-road concept provides a glimpse of how we might image a new model in the future TT family.”
